NSCDC Commandant General, Audi, charges officers to share intelligence for effective security.

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC), CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi has called on the operatives of the security outfit to share intelligence for efficient performance of the Corps
CG Audi made the call at the closing ceremony of the training that was put together by the safe school response team of the NSCDC, held at Nigeria Army 2 Division, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ojoo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The CG who was represented at the event by ACG Technical, ACG Shem Obafaiye also advised the participants to be active on duty and replicate what they learnt during training in their place of work.
He enjoined officers to always check on one another, work together and offer assistance where necessary.
His words, “If you have good information, don’t hide it, share it in order for us not to divide but conquer.”
Also speaking at the closing ceremony, ACG Department of Training and Manpower Development David A ABI (FSI) charged the participants to ensuring a safer environment for various schools and communities in collaboration with other stakeholders and security agencies.
He also thanked the NSCDC and various Security agencies present whose mandate Includes the protection of critical Infrastructure and protect the vulnerable in the society.
“As you know, when you train a girl child, you train a nation and in preserving the children, you protect the next generation of Nigerians” he stated
In his Goodwill address, CSC Tersoo Shaapera, Commander, NSSRCC while appreciating all the Security agencies for putting in effort for the National Safe School Response Programme, stated that the training was necessary to avoid past occurrences.
“The need was compelling because of what has happened in the past, we can’t let that happen again”.
“We have prevented 48 attacks in total since the beginning of this School Response Programme”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Oyo State represented by Mr Ibrahim Bola Afeez, Director, Education and Schools in the State acknowledged the Oyo Command of NSCDC for the synergy with other sister agencies and even commended the quality of leadership of the various Commandants present at the closing of the capacity Building Programme.
“Oyo state Government is happy that this programme is initiated”.
He noted that the capacity Building Programme is a sure way to enhancing safety of schools, students, teachers and various communities
He emphasized that the Oyo state Government will be in support of all Security agencies to make sure that the National Safe School Response Programme is carried out to a federal level “Through your actions the federal Government will be privileged to do more”
Similarly, the GOC Major Gen B.A Alabi represented by Brigadier General BMG Martins confirmed the readiness of the Military to provide necessary support needed to make sure proper Training, Retraining and knowledge is empowered among all members of the corps in order for this Initiative and facilitation to be established for Safety of all schools and communities.
Brigadier General Y O Subair mni, Commander 52 Signal Brigade, HQ 2 DIV Nigeria Army concluded the closing of the capacity Building Programme by congratulating all participants for being part of the training and stressed the need for hardwork and zeal among all participants in terms of dedication and commitment.
The 2023 National Safe School Response ended as all participants were given Certificates of participation as a way of Gracing their time and effort put into making this initiative a successful one.
