TCN commences reconductoring of 132KV transmission lines in its Kano region.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said it has kicked off the reconductoring of 173 km Kumbotso-Hadejia and 105km Kumbitso-Kanka 132KV Single Circuit Transmission Line
The reconductoring, according to TCN, would help increase the wheeling capacity of the transmission lines and enable TCN supply more bulk power to its transmission substations along the lines route.
TCN stated this on its Twitter handle on Saturday.
“Presently, the total transformer capacity of substations connected to the lines is over 396MVA (336.6MW), which is almost six times the current lines
“On completion of the reconductoring of both lines, the substations would be able to operate at optimal capacity as they would now receive adequate bulk power from the reconductored lines.”
