I can no longer deliver the mandate, Liz Truss says as she resigns as UK prime Minister
After 45 days as the elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss on Thursday resigned her position saying she can no longer deliver the mandate she was elected for.
She was in office for only 45 days . This makes her the shortest serving British prime Minister
She resigned after days of increasing chaos and pandemonium which followed her introduction of a Mini Budget.
She said she could no longer deliver the mandate she was elected for.
LiZ Truss will remain in office until her successor is named in the coming week.
