Dr. Agbaje Lateefat Omolara, Medical Director General Hospital Apapa has said that access to quality healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental human right of individuals

 

In a release by Michael Opute, the Public Affairs Officer of the Hospital, the Medical Director remarked that as the GH marked the World Aids Day, good health care service must be made accessible to everyone especially those living in vulnerable and underserved communities.

 

She said, “The existence of health disparities such as limited access to healthcare, stigma and discrimination continue to prevent many from receiving the necessary treatment and prevention services they deserve.”

 

Dr. Agbaje added that “As the world celebrate this day we  are reminded of the collective responsibility we need to address these disparities.”

 

The global theme of this year’s World Aids Day is TAKE THE RIGHT PATH: MY HEALTH, MY RIGHT.

 

Speaking further, she stated that this year’s theme called for urgent action in addressing the inequalities that impede the realisation of a world free AIDS, reaffirming the fundamental right health for all individuals.

 

Dr. Agbaje in her message, highlighted that while significant progress has been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, there is still a long way to go, she emphasis that the right to health is not a privilege but a fundamental human right that must be accessible to everyone, especially those living in vulnerable and underserved communities.

 

The existence of health disparities such as limited access to healthcare, stigma and discrimination continue to prevent many from receiving the necessary treatment and prevention services they deserve.

Dr. AGBAJE Omolara said as the world celebrate this day we  are reminded of the collective responsibility we need to address these disparities.

 

She said this is the time for us to unite and take the right path towards ending HIV/AIDS and ensuring the right to health for all
