We have made huge investments, discernment efforts in curtailing insecurity" - ODSG
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has stated that security is germane to national development hence the agenda of the administration is geared towards a crime free state.
He stated this while playing host to the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2nd Division, Nigeria Army, Ibadan, Major General Aminu S.Chinade and some senior officers of the Nigerian Army, who were on a familiarization visit to the State on Tuesday at Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office Alagbaka, Akure.
Akeredolu was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Ehile appreciating the new cooperation from the Nigerian Army in the State, he declared that, “The Nigerian Army is very key to security success in our State, as your officers are always on ground to support other Security Agencies in the State” .
“As a pro-active State on the issue insecurity, it is a fact that our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, doesn’t joke or play politics with the lives and properties of the people” , he said
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that, the State has made huge investments and discernment efforts in curtailing insecurity in the State, especially with the establishment of the State’s security outfit “Amotekun”.
While hailing Nigerian Army for their laudable role in the State, the Deputy Governor said, “Nigerian Army as an important institution, we are very pleased to be partnering with them and other Security Agencies in the State on the issue of insecurity” .
“On this, we thank you and your men, particularly, the 32 Artillery Brigade Command, Akure for the cooperation we have been enjoying so far” , he said.
He then appealed for the need for all the Security Agencies in the State to continue with the existing cooperation and to build a result-oriented that will protect the State.
Earlier, Major General Aminu Chinade commended the resilience and dedication of Governor Akeredolu on the issue of insecurity in the State .
He praised the government for it’s focus on its developmental strides which are geared towards good and impactful governance, saying that the Governor has brought pride to the State.
Others in attendance are, Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff to Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Olaniyi Ogundele, Commissioner of Health, Dr Banji Ajaka, Commander of the State Security Network ( Amotekun Corps ) and Special Adviser to Governor on Security, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, Special Adviser to Governor on Education, Dr ( Mrs) Janet Wunmi Ilawole, and Special Adviser to Governor on Environment, Hon Oyeniyi Oseni.
Others are Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, SSA to Governor on Youths and Students Affairs, Hon Muyiwa Ogunyemi, Press Secretary to Governor ( Office of Deputy Governor ) Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga, Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade Command Akure, Brigadier General Mukhtar Adamu, Senior officers and officers of the Nigerian Army.
