Courtesy visit: Customs, Police forge formidable alliance against criminalities in ports 

 

 

The newly appointed Controller of Customs, Tincan Island Port Area Command, Comptroller JA ANANI on Thursday, visited the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police Command, CP Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, at the Command Headquarters in Apapa, Lagos.

ASP Isaac Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, Ports Authority Police (Western) , Command, Apapa, stated this in a press release.

 

According to the statement, the visit was aimed at fostering stronger inter-agency collaboration and enhancing the existing synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Police Force in securing the nation’s maritime domain and facilitating legitimate trade within the ports.

Speaking during the visit, the Customs Area Controller commended the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command for its unwavering commitment to maintaining security and public order within the port environment.

 

He emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation among security and regulatory agencies in addressing emerging challenges and ensuring the smooth operation of port activities.

 

In her response, the Commissioner of Police welcomed the Customs Controller and congratulated him on his appointment.

CP Agbaminoja reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working closely with the Nigeria Customs Service and other stakeholders to strengthen security architecture across the nation’s seaports.

 

The Commissioner noted that effective collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint drills remain critical to combating criminal activities within the maritime sector and safeguarding critical national assets.
