NPA EDs visit TCIP, commend level of rehabilitation on administrative building, charge workers to support terminal operators for improved revenue.

The Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services, Ibrahim Abba Umar has described the quality of rehabilitation at the Tincan Island Port administrative building as top notch.
The ED gave the commendation during his working visit of the administrative building.
He promised to ensure that additional air-conditioners and befitting furniture required to enhance the new Conference Room of the building will be provided alongside every other item necessary to make the building attain a respective standard .
The ED Engineering whose inspection took him from floor to floor of the building also visited the Agency’s building which he also commended for the quality of work done on it.
Earlier, the Port Manager Tin Can Island Port, Mr Sylvester O. Egede had informed the visiting ED about the need for additional Air-conditioners and furniture for the new Conference Room.
At the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) HQ at Osho Drive, Lagos, Engineer Umar while inspecting a building construction sponsored by NPA frowned at the Contractor handling the job, insisting the contractor must step up his job or he will not be paid.
Similarly, earlier in the week the Executive Director Marine and Operations Olalekan Badmus paid a maiden official visit to the Tincan Island Port from where he inspected all the Terminal Operators within the Port complex.
Back at the Tin Can Admin Building he charges the work force to support the Terminal Operators at all times “since the more money they get the more revenue for NPA
Speaking further, Badmus asserted that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all operations must be provided to the Terminal Operators upon which their activities would be measured also directing the Safety Department of Tin Can Port to pay unscheduled visit to these terminals to determine the level of compliance with the SOP to the latter otherwise of which appropriate sanctions should be applied accordingly.
Speaking earlier the Port Manager Tincan Island Port Sylvester O. Egede had briefed the ED M&O about the history, functions and recent activities of the Tincan Port.
