Protest: AIG Maritime charges leaders, field officers to ensure tight security against hijack by hoodlums

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Maritime Police Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, AIG Olofu Adetutu Rhoda on Wednesday, charged the strategic leaders and field officers of the command to ensure watertight security
She called on all officers of the Ports Authority Police, Western Command, Apapa, Eastern Command, Port Harcourt, the National Inland Waterways Police, Lokoja and the Marine Police personnel to ensure security is emplaced to curtail all acts of Vandalisation of the nation’s critical infrastructures within the maritime domain by hoodlums who would want to hijack the peaceful protest to unleash mayhem.

According to the statement, the AIG also directed that adequate manpower be ensured for the safety of all coastal communities, ports, harbours, inland and navigable waterways.
She warned that officers and men should ensure that their conducts before, during and after the nationwide protest are professional and in line with the rules of engagement.
