Osinbajo dares Tinubu, declares for presidency.

After much suspense, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday morning dared his former boss, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as he declared intention to contest 2023 presidential election.
He also declared that he would be running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not minding the ambition of his political godfather, who had earlier declared his intention to run for the same office same year.
He made the declaration in a short broadcast shared on his Twitter handle.
He said, “I am today with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of All Progressives Congress.”
With his declaration, Osinbajo will be contesting the APC primary against Tinubu, his purported godfather, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi who have all declared their intentions to run for president on the same platform.
There are insinuations that Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) may declare for the same position in coming days under the APC platform.
Recall that Prof Osinbajo was appointed Attorney General of Lagos State in 1999 when Tinubu was governor, a position he held for two terms.
He was popular for several reforms initiated by the erstwhile AG.
The Vice President who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), turned 65 years last month.
Osinbajo who is a Senior member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, began his political foray in 1988 as a Legal Adviser to a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Bola Ajibola for four years
He was elected alongside President Buhari in 2015 after being nominated in 2014 as his running mate.
