Barely one week to the Gubernatorial/House of Assembly Election, the Igbo Speaking Community, Stakeholders in ljebu Ode, Ogun State have unanimously pledged their unflinching supports for Honourable Funso Adekunle of The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) as member representing Ijebu Ode State Constituency, come March 18.

The Candidate with his supporters was received by Eze Ndigbo of Ijebu Ode, Chief Eze Austin Onwuanaku, cabinet members, and stakeholders.

Eze Onwuanaku pledged the unflinching support of his people for Hon. Funso Adekunle come March 18, stating that they would urge all their members to come out enmass to vote for him.

The Eze Ndigbo acknowledged and appreciated Hon. (Rotarian) Funso Jide Adekunle and his campaign team for recognizing the lgbo Speaking Community, while also advising Hon. Fusho not to forget his people and the community once he is elected into the office.

He opined that the lgbo community are one and united people and that they have agreed to support any candidate who will have the community at heart.

“As it stands we don’t have any preferred candidate but seeing your programs and following your antecedents, we have decided to give you our unflinching support if only you will keep to all your promises that you made today,” he submitted.

Responding, Hon Adekunle said that the visit was meant to register the love he has for the Igbo Community even as he reiterated his commitment in ensuring that his five cardinal points which include Security, High Quality Education, Family and Youth Empowerment, Health and Agricultural initiatives and Rural Development, stated that if elected he won’t disappoint them but rather he would deliver on his promises.

He added that the inclusion of other tribes mostly the igbos in implementation of constituency projects and making of great policies that will support the co – existence of people of different tribes and culture in Ijebu communities and ogun state in general if elected.

He assured the Igbo community that he would be accessible and run an open door policy. Highlight of the event was prayers rendered on Honourable Funso Adekunle.
