OAPU President charges Otan indigenes on love for one another, patriotism.
President of Otan Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU), Prof Akinloye Farinde has called on both Christian and Muslim faithfuls of Otan Ayegbaju not to yield to the seemingly daunting challenges of life.
He made the call in view of the Easter celebration and ongoing Ramadan fasting across the globe.
Professor Farinde who also urged indigenes of the ancient town to increase their love for one another instead of hate, enjoined them to be more patriotic while reminding them that Otan Ayegbaju is the only town they have.
This is contained in Easter message signed by High Chief Olu Akindele
OAPU National Public Relations Officer (PRO).
According to the union helmsman, “This period emboldens us to believe that the current spate of insecurity in Otan will soon unfold a season of triumph of good over evil; hope over despair, and light over darkness.
“This year’s celebration is very unique for adherents of the two great faiths in Otan Ayegbaju .
“It culminates the 40-day season of Lent for Christians, where the faithful is expected to fast, pray, assist the poor, abhor injustice and strife, give alms, penitently engage in self-examination and repentance of sins.
“Similar values apply to the Muslim faithful, currently in the holy month of Ramadan.
“For us as sons and daughters of Otan Ayegbaju, both home and abroad, the message of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion and burial, reminds us of the power of divine love, faith and redemption.
“Easter also evokes in us the resilience of the human spirit not to give up in the face of seemingly daunting challenges of life. This period emboldens us to believe that the current spate of insecurity in Otan will soon unfold a season of triumph of good over evil; hope over despair, and light over darkness.
“He therefore enjoy us, to live out the eternal words of Jesus Christ on the cross: ‘‘Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing.’’ .
“As we approach another season of electioneering in Osun state, let the security and unity of the Otan Ayegbaju guide our actions and utterances.
“Prof Farinde prayed for a joyful and blessed Easter.”
