Leandro Trossard may be available for Man United clash if deal is sealed before deadline day
Premier League leaders, Arsenal FC has said that Leandro Trssard could be available for selection against Manchester United if he completes his proposed move to Arsenal before the registration deadline set by the Premier League
Mikel Arteta could have a new to attacker to call on for Arsenal’s key Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at Emirates Stadium. After losing out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea, Edu has moved quickly to sign an ideal replacement and Brighton star Leandro Trossard appears to have been deemed as that player.
After opening talks earlier today (Thursday), Arsenal have now reached an agreement for Trossard, which will see them pay a £21million fee plus add-ons to Brighton, as football.london understands. Chelsea and Tottenham had also held a strong interest in signing the 28-year-old, with the latter reportedly seeing a £12million bid rebuffed by the Seagulls who were said to be demanding at least £26million.
The speed of the deal is largely down to Edu and Arteta needing to work quickly in order to sign a new attacker in January after their attempts to agree a deal for Mudryk were hijacked by Chelsea. Raphinha and Moussa Diaby had both been listed as options, however the Gunners appeared to be priced out of a deal by both Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen, who each quoted the £88million by the Blues for Mudryk as the benchmark.
