Kwara NSCDC arrests man for unauthorised withdrawal, other fraudulent deals.

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday, paraded a 28 year-old-man for alleged impersonation and fraudulent dealings.
Parading the suspect at the command headquarters in Ilorin, the Commandant, Umar J.G Mohammed disclosed that Muhammed Jamiu Maruf from Gbaaku Area, Okolowo, Ilorin, was apprehended on Monday, 19th February 2024 following a complaint by Mallam Zakariyahu Maruf, alleging the suspect of unauthorized transfer from his account.
In a statement by ASC Ayoola Michael Shola, CDPRO of Kwara State command, 3 complete sets of Nigeria Army Uniform, 3 Cutlasses, and 1 Red Electric Motorcycle bike were recovered from the suspect during his arrest.
The statement noted that during preliminary investigations, it was discovered that the suspect had never been enlisted in the Nigeria Army and that he has been exploiting and extorting money from the public, causing fear within the community.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect purchased an electric motorcycle bike from a seller named Mr. Dangote in Lagos for ₦500,000.
He initially paid ₦100,000 and subsequently blocked the seller’s contact to evade paying the remaining balance of ₦400,000.
Commandant Umar stated that the suspect confessed to the crime and will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious of individuals with criminal intentions who deceive and defraud others.
