Compt Umar resumes at Western Marine Command

Comptroller A A. Umar has assumed office as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

He took over from Deputy Controller (DC) E. O. Ochiba who held sway before his new assignment.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC), Isah Sulaiman stated this in a press statement on Monday.

He said, “During a brief handing and taking over at the WMC Headquarters Ibafon-Apapa, Lagos, the outgoing Ag. CAC welcomed and congratulated the substantive Area Controller for his posting.

“He appreciated the Officers/Men for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged them to accord maximum support and cooperation to the new Area Controller.

“In his remark, Comptroller AA UMAR fsi urged the Officers/Men to rededicate themselves to their statutory responsibilities. He charged them to be disciplined and work according to the codes, procedures, departmental instructions and laws as enshrine in the Customs and Excise Management Act Cap C45 2004 as amended.

“Comptroller AAUMAR fsi was among the Comptrollers who were recently redeployed on the 8 February 2022 by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd).

“Until his appointment, Comptroller A. A UMAR fsi was the Comptroller Discipline at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja,” he stated.
