The Federal Ministry of Justice on Friday, honored Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Ahmed Ramat Mohammed with the Certificate of Merit for Ministerial Service Award

The award is in view of the recent interception of containers containing cache of arms and ammunition, cocaine, heroine, cannabis indica (aka Colorado)among other. Illicit drugs imported from South Africa.

In the award letter presented to the DCN Ahmed Ramat in Abuja on Friday, stated that it was in recognition of his hard work and dedication to duty in the service to the nation.

In another award, he was honored for efficiency in service delivery.

The awards were presented to the Galant anti narcotic officer who led the team that intercepted the containers by the Buba Marwa, CCEO of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

DCN Ahmed Ramat Mohammed is the Deputy Commander in charge of the Tincan Island Special command in Lagos.

Deputy Commander of Narcotics, (DCN) Ahmed Ramat Mohammed was born into the family of Alhaji Muhammad Gomo Tadurga on the 15th of March, 1970 in Zuru, Kebbi State.

 

He joined the Service of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in 1996. He has since risen through the ranks to become a Deputy Commander of Narcotics.

His work experience as an anti drug warrior saw him deployed to different states and commands where he excelled in performance and integrity.

His discipline and upright character led to rejection of bribe sum of up to the tune of $22,900 from drug barons who intended importing hard drugs and ammunition into the country through the seaport.

The seizure which made headlines, was one of the highest interception at the command in a long time.

His first deployment after joining the service of the NDLEA was to the Maintenance Unit of the Agency but was later posted to USDEA Joint Task Force under the Leadership of Tony Ray Ene and ACGN Samuel Bashir Gadzama the present Director, Operation and General Investigations of the Agency.

He was posted to Apapa Seaport Command in 2000 where he served as the Staff Officer for a period of 2 years. He left the Seaport in 2004 to the Directorate of Operations and General Investigations where he was appointed as the Principal Staff Officer, Special Investigation Assignment (SIA) up to 2009 when he was posted to Edo State Command, Benin City.

While in Edo, he became the Area Commander, Auchi, 6 months later he was redeployed back to Command Head Office and appointed as the Principal Staff Officer, Operations and Investigation.

He left Edo State Command in 2011 to Yobe State Command, Damaturu. He spent a period of 8 years there. While in Yobe State Command, he headed three different Area Commands such as Gujba Area Command, Potiskum Area Command as well as Gashua Area Command.

Deputy Commander Ahmed Ramat Mohammed left Yobe State Command in 2019 to Osun State Command where he was posted to Ila Oragun Area Command as the Area Commander up to 2021. He was later posted to Tincan Special Area Command in 2021 and appointed as the Deputy Area Commander till date.

While in Tincan Special Area Command he coordinated several successful operations which led to lots of seizures of drugs, arms and ammunitions as well as bribe money in the tune of $ 22,900 which he rejected.

In view of his outstanding performance, DCN Mohammed in February, 2024, received a commendation letter from the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa.
