Adaralewa, Oyo NSCDC charges politicians on peaceful campaigns.

 

 Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) State Commandant, CC Adaralewa Micheal has charged politicians and the political followers to embrace peace and conduct themselves well when going about their campaign
The charge comes on the heels of the fact that campaigns have been officially declared open for 2023 general elections according to the time table of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
‘’The politician should embrace peace and know that they can not govern over the dead’’
Commandant Adaralewa Michael made the statement to the people of the state during an interactive session that involved the HOD’s, Area Commanders, HOU’s and Divisional Officers in all the 33 Local Councils and 35 LCDA’s at the State Command Headquarters old NITEL building, Agodi Ibadan on Tuesday.
He called on all the Stakeholders involved in the electioneering process in the state, starting from the campaign and proper election time to be God-fearing in discharging their duties while admonishing the officers and men of the corps specially Arms Squad, Agro Ranger, Female Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit to see themselves as part of the process to achieve the smooth electioneering by not compromising with the assignment given to them because Nigerians are looking up to them for good results.
Commandant Adaralewa Micheal Stated further that officers and men of the Corps are receiving training and retraining all the time especially on the ways to prevent abnormality during the campaign and election time.
Meanwhile, the State Commandant has charged the officers and men of the corps to be law abiding and good ambassador of the organization. He also enjoined the traditional rulers, Baale, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders and Landlords Associations to warn all their subjects to conduct themselves in a manner that would not bring violence before, during and after the election.
“Political parties should inform the security agencies of their Campaign programme in other to provide adequate security at the campaign ground and also to maintain Peace, Protection of life’s and National Assets of the country.
Commandant Adaralewa later enjoined the Political parties to go by the rule stated by INEC on  campaign guidelines because  anyone found doing anything against the guideline will be dealt with according to the law.
