The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has congratulated the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr Abubakar Dantsoho
In a congratulatory letter made available to our correspondent by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN President General of the union, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju described Dantsoho as an astute administrator.
According to Adeyanju who is also the 1st Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), the new NPA boss is an experienced administrator who had gone all strategic departments of the Authority.
The letter stated, “Dr. Adeyanju described Dantsoho as an astute administrator who has gone through all strategic departments of the Authority; hence, his appointment did not come to us as surprise but as a result of absolute merit.
“His dedication commitment, determination, discipline, and steadfastness brought him thus far having held the position of Assistant General Manager (Servicom), Principal Manager (Tariff & Billing), and Port Manager, Onne Port.
“Dr. Dantsoho also held the position of Chief of Staff to Alhaji Mua’zu Sambo, the former Minister of Transportation; giving him all the edge for the designation.
“The Maritime Workers Union will give the new MD of NPA all necessary support and partner him as he resumes duty in the foremost Maritime parastatal in the country.
“The Union is wishing Dr. Dantsoho well as he navigates the ship of the Authority in the Maritime Sector,” it concluded.
