2023: Lagos lawmaker, Lasbat, woos union members to vote for APC,.

The lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency 1, at the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), Hon.Mojisola Lasbat Miranda has called on members of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) to vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) at all levels in the 2023 general elections.

Miranda who is seeking a third term in the state Assembly made the call on Monday in Lagos during a courtesy visit to the national secretariat of MWUN

She stated that lobbying remains one of her jobs in building bridges between the constituents and the government.

The lawmaker disclosed that Dockworkers Branch of the union has been the sixth ward within her constituency.

She added that some members of the union had contested elective positions in Apapa Local Government in the past.

According to her, there are five wards under her Constituency 1 but maintained that the additional ward for the dockers would bring the maritime industry closer to governance.

Her words “I have five wards in my constituency and ever since I came on board, I have used the Dockworkers as my sixth wards over the years.

She further appealed for members of the union to vote for the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu adding that during his time as governor of Lagos State, he performed beyond expectations.

While campaigning for candidates under the party, she reiterated that Lagos State is endowed with infrastructure noting that the only facility missing in the state its own airline saying that as a legislature, she was able to provide furniture for schools , rendering assistance to vulnerable children and families etc.

Responding, President General, MWUN , Comrade Adewale Adeyanju while welcoming the lawmaker, said the union had the capacity to sponsor a candidate to contest in Apapa elections but added that the union has respect for workers choices in elections

He urged the lawmaker to work closely with Dockworkers Branch.
