Shippers' Council recovers over N17 million from Costco Shipping for haulage company in 4 weeks

The Compliance Unit of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) said it recovered a whooping sum of N17, 941, 480 million debt owed M&T Ind Solution from by Cisco Shipping and OOCL for haulage services rendered
The Council had received a petition letter by M&T Int’l Solution Ltd titled “Non Payment of Bills by COSCO/OOCL’,stating that the company refused to pay its debt of N24,977, 500 million accrued over a period of time as the amount charged for safety transportation and delivery if their 128 empty containers to designated terminals.
In its characteristic way of resolving issues, the Council a tripartite meeting chaired by the Deputy Director Complaints Unit, Mr. Daniel Orume with all parties present.
In a newsletter published by the Council, after careful analysis of the issue.in accordance with industry standard, the Council ordered COSCO Shipping to make the payment within four weeks,
“In order to adhere to the Council’s instruction of making payment within the stipulated period, COSCO Shipping offered to pay the sum of N17, 941, 480 million only.
Managing Director of M&T Solution, Mrs T U Oliagba accepted the offer for the payment if the sum for continuity of vusniess and in the condition that COSCO Shipping increases their quota in the trucking of empty boxes with COSCO and OOCL even as M&T requested it’s company to be.lusted among the licensed barge operators.
M&T however applauded the Council after receipt of the money.
