Lagos Health District IV honours staff at Y2025 Recognition and Awards Ceremony; highlights achievements

The Lagos State Health District IV on Tuesday organised it’s annual Recognition and Awards Ceremony for outstanding staff performance for the year.
The event which took place at Olufemi Hall, Yaba Local Government Secretariat, saw the health workers troop out in their numbers.
The Health District also used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of the District within the year under review.
Among the achievements include i strengthening routine immunization services as well as improved antenatal and skilled delivery coverage within the District
It added that it had also expanded access to essential primary healthcare services across its facilities
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District IV Dr, Abimbola Bowale stated this in his welcome address at the Year 2025 Recognition and Award Ceremony held in Lagos.
Represented at the event by Dr. Shotunde, Oludolapo, Director, Medical Services and Disease Control, he quipped that the district had made progress in disease surveillance and response, ensuring timely reporting and prompt action during public health alerts.
“We have strengthened routine immunization services, improved antenatal and skilled delivery coverage, and expanded access to essential primary healthcare services across our facilities.
“These gains are not accidental—they are the direct result of your dedication and teamwork.

“Our community outreach and health education activities have increased awareness, improved service uptake, and strengthened trust between our facilities and the communities we serve.
“Quality improvement efforts across our health facilities have led to better patient flow, improved record keeping, and a stronger focus on patient-centred care.
“Through regular supervision, mentorship, and capacity-building activities, our health workers continue to enhance their skills and uphold professional standards.
“These achievements would not have been possible without the daily sacrifices of our nurses, midwives, doctors, community health workers, environmental health officers, laboratory staff, and support personnel. Each cadre plays a vital role in delivering safe, accessible, and quality healthcare.”
The Permanent Secretary maintained that the awards ceremony is a way of saying that the efforts of the workers are recognised, valued, and their impact evident.
“Recognition is a key driver of motivation. By celebrating outstanding performance today, we are reinforcing a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork across Health District IV.
“To our award recipients, congratulations. You have distinguished yourselves through commitment, integrity, and exemplary service. You are ambassadors of best practice, and we look forward to your continued leadership and mentorship of others.
“To those not receiving awards today, please know that your work remains essential and appreciated. Together, we are strengthening the health system one step at a time.
“As a District, we remain committed to supporting our workforce through continuous training, supportive supervision, and improved working conditions. A motivated and responsive workforce remains central to achieving quality healthcare delivery,” she stated.

A.total.of.nine staff were honoured at the 2025 recognition and awards ceremony for their dedication and commitment to duty during the outgoing year.
