One week after ban, okada riders hit the roads, commence normal operation in Mile 2

 

Barely a week after Lagos State government ordered commercial motorcycles popularly called okada out of 6 Local Government Areas and Nine Local Council Development Areas and highways, the commercial bikers are back on the roads in droves
Our correspondent who observed the development from Cele Express to Mike 2 along Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, discovered that the motorcycle operators not only t returned, local government officials were seen collecting tolls from them.
The atmosphere as discovered by our correspondent, is not different from what used to happen before the ban by the state government.
The Mile 2 area is filled with the riders as they feel relaxed and scouting for passengers.
Recall that Lagos State government had placed ban on commercial motorcycles in sux local government areas including; Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere, Lagos Mainland, Apapa.
The nine LCDAs are: Ojodu, Onigbongbo, Lagos Island West, Lagos Island East, Yaba, Coker Aguda, Ikate and Itire-Ikate.
Monarchsnews.com had reported that some of the okada riders who spoke with the newspaper, said it was a matter of time before they returned to the roads saying, the tempo would soon simmer.
