Ojuelegba truck accident: COMTUA seeks synergy with govt to curtail menace.

 

The Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA) has called on relevant government agencies to partner with it to stem the tide of filling containers on the roads.

In a statement by the National President of COMTUA, Adeyinka Aroyewun on Monday, the the group whike expressing regret over the unfortunate incident, added that it shall cooperate and support the government in all areas and plans to address the persistent problem of accidents on our roads, especially the continuous fall of container boxes.

Aroyewun also stated that the Council shall strengthen its regulation and control on members to ensure that safety is not compromised in all their dealings

Text of the statement, “We wish to express the regret of our association on the frequency of accidents involving our members’ trucks, the deaths, injuries and loss that results from it.

“We are, through this release expressing our condolences with the families of the victims. We pray to Almighty God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

“We are concerned about this and shall cooperate and support the government in all areas and plans to address the persistent problem of accidents on our roads, especially the continuous fall of container boxes.

“COMTUA regrets the unfortunate incident and shall support government to ensure a safer roads for motorist.”
