NPA, police, others seek sustained free flow of traffic

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in conjunction with other relevant stakeholders in the maritime industry have cime together to address possible causes of traffic along the port access road.

Among the issues tabled for discussion include; issues of
jurisdictional overlaps and extortion along Tincan and Apapa Ports access roads.

Recall thar there are reports of return of gridlock along the port access roads.

Seeking solution to the menace, the apex maritime agency convened a meeting if the relevant stakeholders to nip it in thr bud.

Among those present at the meeting are: the Assistant. Inspector General of Police (Maritime) AIG Nurat Okunade, the Representative of Commissioner of Transport Lagos, Mr. Ojowuro Olasunkanmi, the Secretary-General, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Godfrey Nwosu and FRSC Sector Commander Lagos, Corp Commander Ganiyu Hamzat.

Also in attendance were the National President and Secretary-General of the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMARTO) Chief Remi Ogungbemi and Comrade Bala Mohammed respectively.

The MD/CEO was joined by Executive Director Fin. & Admin. NPA, Mrs Vivian Richard-Edet, Executive Director Marine & Operations, Engr. Olalekan Badmus and the General Manager, Security NPA, Mr. Anthony Edosomwan.
