NIS promotes 4 ACGs, 24 Comptrollers, 71 others to new ranks.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has elevated ninety eight senior officers to their new ranks
The elevation according to Amos Okpu, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration Service Public Relations Officer, is borne out the successful performance of the officers in a promotion exercise conducted for them in December 2021.
This is contained in a letter from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board vide CDCFIB/NIS/2021/PE/640/VOL.1/1 and dated 20th May, 2022.
According to the statement by ACI Okpu, Four (4) Assistant Comptrollers General were promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptrollers General while 24 Comptrollers got elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers General of Immigration.
Others include; 70 Deputy Comptrollers promoted to the rank of Comptroller of Immigration.
Names of those promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration include: Josephine Chisara Kwazu; Modupe Oshoke Anyalechi; Muhammad Aminu Muhammad and Ajoke Oluremi Talabi.

While the Officers promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration include: Nandap Kemi Nanna, the current Comptroller at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos; Ahmed Bauchi Aliyu, the Principal Staff Officer to the acting Comptroller General, Abdullahi Usman Musa, the Comptroller in-charge of Migration at the Service Headquarters; Amao Kolawole Michael, the current Comptroller of Ogun State Command; Alawode Nuratu Betty, the Comptroller in-charge of Gender&Staff Welfare; Acholonu Alphonsus, the current Comptroller of Ekiti State Command, among others.
The following officers were promoted to the rank of Comptroller of Immigration; Adesokan Adeola, currently at the Training and Staff Development Division, Service Headquarters; Bagari Ahmad Dauda, at the Visa and Residency Directorate, Service Headquarters; Bewaji Abolupe Oladoyin, the current Passport Control Officer, Ikoyi Passport Office, Lagos; Onuora Constance Nwama; Kila Liman Sani, the current Passport Control Officer, Kano Passport office, among others.
The acting Comptroller General Isah Jere Idris while congratulating the Officers ceased the opportunity to express his appreciation to government for considering them worthy for promotion.
He enjoined the newly promoted Officers to continue to demonstrate high level of commitment and efficiency in service delivery to justify their promotion.
