The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Micura Services Limited, High Chief Michael Orobosa Ubogu, on Saturday, emphasised the importance of mental work of.staff at workplace.
He also called on employers of labour to ensure open door policies for employees as part of efforts to boost productivity and activate mental health of workers.
Ubogu disclosed this over the weekend at the 15th Success In Leadership Conference and Awards (SILC) 2024.
According to him, access by subordinates to their superiors, gives them the feeling and belonging which will ultimately boost their productivity
The eloquent CEO, quipped that wealth is not measured by the amount of money in the bank but by the impacts made on people’s lives
Ubogu who won the Conference’s “Grand Patron” award, noted that integrity plays a key role in the establishment of business, adding that government certifications must be met as a legal entity.
The Micura boss further urged employers to embrace joint ventures business as a way of partnership with people of like minds, saying that legal documents must be in the forefront of the agreement.
He urged employers to go for contract by deeds and not contract by conduct because of the Nigerian constitution.
The stevedoring expert further admonished the gathering that employers must leverage on technology,which in turn will grow the business globally.
He urged business owners to carry workers along the ladder of success and business growth noting that the use of ” we is much more better than I in any firm.
Ubogu said ” In the world today, technology has taken over. If you leverage your business on technology today I can tell you that the business will be known worldwide.
“Communication skill is also very important part of your business. Without communication skill you are not in business. You must develop communication skill in your business”Ubogu noted.
The maritime expert who was among the panelists at the conference pointed out that Micura Service Limited is known in the maritime industry because of the service delivery rendered to clients over the years.
Other notable personalities that won awards at the conference; are – Deputy President General of MWUN, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi who got the “Maritime Icon Of The Year Award.”
Bunu who dedicated his award to seafarers’ commended the Presidents General of MWUN,Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for pathway of empowering Nigerian seamen, – Hon. Sabur Akanbi Oluwa, Honourable Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 02, and member House Committee on Energy and Mineral, Maliki Bawa Rilwanu, Chief Superintendent of Police Lagos .
Others are – Chief Tunde Alapini, Executive Director, Logistics & Distribution,Micura Services Limited,Hon. Kehinde Arogundade, 5th& 6th Leader of the House, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Local Government Area of Lagos State and Assistant Controller , Nigeria Customs Service Ofoegbu Ifeanyi amongst many.
