The Nigerian Merchant Navy Officer and Eater Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) has expressed confidence in the capability of the new Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola
Speaking through the National President, Chief Engr. Bob Joseph Yousou, the group maintained that his pedigree and his antecedents have equipped him with the necessary experience to tackle the challenges of the top maritime agency.
Engr. Yousou who doubles as the ITF African Chairman, Seafarers section, also welcomed the NIMASA boss who admitted that cap fits the new helmsman, pledged the association’s maximum cooperation to the forner LAMATA boss.
The Vice Chairman, NCC Nigeria Chapter of ITF added that Merchant Navy would help.the DG to foster growth in the maritime sector in conformity with the DG’s promise of innovative technology, security and safety of all personnel especially the Seafarers.
“Also, the Seafarers advise the new DG to run inclusive government and to consult and carry along all maritime stakeholders and to be mindful of sycophants and.oraise singers.”
The African seafarers’ leader alao encouraged Dr. Bayo to work mostly with technocrats whose experiences in the marine profession will be of immense benefits to him and the generality of the industry.
Also.speakibg, the Secretary General of the union, Comrade John Okpono advised the new DG to attend to the welfare of workers which according to him, would encourage productivity
He added that he should strengthen the bond between the agency and seafarers saying the success of his administration lies majorly on the happiness of workers.
“On behalf of NMNOWTSSA, I once again welcome Dr and wish him a flourishing and remarkable tenure.
We stand with him as we are stronger together,” he concludes..
