New yam festival: Eze Njoku hosts lgbo community, promotes culture.

Enhancing and promoting lgbo culture among the young generations, the Eze Ndigbo of Aigbaka, Ejigbo, Lagos State, Eze (Amb) Nicholas Emenike Njoku has concluded arrangements to showcase the rich culture and traditions of lgbo Community during his first Ofala/New yam festival (lri ji) on September 30, 2023 by 12.00noon.
The event which will hold at Ronik Comprehensive College, Ejigbo, will witness a large turnout of illustrious sons and daughters of Igbo both at home and in the Diaspora, high profile personalities, friends, children and cultural enthusiasts.
Eze Njoku, Eziokwu bu Ndu 1 of Abazu, Ikeduru reiterated his commitment to promoting lgbo language as young children will be on ground to display and showcase the traditional culture and traditions of the igbo nation.
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Hon. Engr Chuks Odimegwu noted that the event which is under the chairmanship of Prince Hilary Ugochukwu Nwachukwu (Ugo Sly), Jude Idimogu as the co-host and Alhaji Fola Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour, would witness new yam festival with ecstasy and pomp as the event will commence on Friday, 29th September 2023 at the palace of Eze Eziokwu bu Ndu with presentation of chieftaincy titles and climaxed on September 30 with the Grand Finale which would feature diverse cultural performances, presentation of new yam, dance among others.
He further stated that this year’s Ofala/New yam festival have been skewed to attract local, state and federal government’s presence to the rich cultural heritage of the lgbo nation.
