The Repairer of the Breached Outreach (A christian youth outreach) based in Lagos, recently donated 1,000 exercise books and 1,000 sets of different academic textbooks to orphans and indigent students in Ejigbo and its environs.
The convener, Evangelist Opeyemi Sultan Yusuf who expressed joy in giving back to society especially the less privileged and children whose parents cannot afford to get their writing materials, stated that the aim and objectives of the outreach is to put smiles on the faces of the young ones.
Evangelist Yusuf stated that the zeal to assist the young ones came in 2019, seeing how students were able to read, attend classes but don’t have the required materials, while some have been written off by their own teacher who are supposed to be their role models.
His words, “This outreach was borne out from some of the challenges most young ones face as far as their academic is concerned. There are things l personally faced when l was growing up especially in my university days, l found it very important that youths needs to be equipped with knowledge, teaching of the word of God and resources so as to fulfill the mandate of God in their lives.
“I started this outreach when l visited a rural area during my Youth service days, saw how students were sitting on the floor to receive lectures, some didn’t even have writing materials and textbooks. With this, it motivated me to reach out to the young ones and bless them with educational materials,” he said.
He stated that the outreach mission was to empower economically-disadvantaged students, enabling them to pursue education at all levels and become valuable contributors to both their own lives and the society.
The young vibrant evangelist emphasised that the benevolent gesture was aimed at preventing poverty from hindering the education of indigent and vulnerable students and ensuring that the young generation gets the right education.
He opined that since the inception of this outreach, many destinies have been changed, people in the wrong pattern have come to realize the intention of God for them, while appealing to God spirited individuals to key into the vision so as to assist the young generation.
He urged the youths to always put God first and always have the fear of God in them by seeking the kingdom of God and every other thing would be added to them.
In the same vein, Brother Oluwole Okimi pointed out that the target of the outreach is to try and reach out to over 5,000 youths in Ejigbo and its environs, preaching the love of God and making them to understand that Christ came because of them to love and care and also giving them educational materials.
“Education is crucial for improving the socio-economic status of any citizens. Through this outreach beneficiaries will be empowered with writing and educational materials of different classes because we noticed that the young generation are eager to equip themselves with the right channel but are handicap financially, the repairer of the breach outreach is committed to supporting these students to get quality education,” he said.
Oluwole added that in addition to educational support, the outreach regularly conducts seminar, youth program where the undiluted word of God is preached to youths and adults.
Highlight of the event was sharing of copies of the bible, educational textbooks, exercise books and stationeries to students.
