The National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwo Ezisi on Friday, revealed how he has committed his life to empowering the youth, widows and students in the South East.

Speaking with journalists in his office during the celebration of his 51st birthday, Chief Ezisi said he empowers 50 persons with a sum of N1 Million each every year

He quipped that he has built about 176 houses for the widows and the poor in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

According to him, he donates three buses to farmers in the South East every December adding that about 500 students are under his scholarship program, including 180 students in higher institutions

He maintained that whatever he is depends on what people know him for and not what he tells people about himself.

He maintained that the birthday celebration organised by the founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam was purely out of love and reciprocation of his actions.

On the delivery of promise of getting a permanent secretariat for the association on ascension of office as president, he adduced the delay to economic outlook of the country

He however expressed determination to fulfil the promise but stated that it might take longer time than promised even as he assured that funds have been set aside for the project.

He said, “The delay factor, which all of us know, is the bad economy. The bad economy affected everything, but I must tell you, to be honest, it might take us more than the time we said we would do it, but God willing we will do it. I will stay here to tell you I will have an account for it and we have some money in the account for that project. So, to the best of my knowledge, we are doing well on that side. When we are ready, we will call the press and tell you what we are working on.

On the birthday party organised for him, he said, “You cannot give what you don’t have. The show of love didn’t just come. The show of love is returning that love I have shown them. They didn’t just start. They’ve had other presidents here, and such things have never happened. Something must have happened to allow this to happen. I love my family. I’m a peacemaker. I am not power drunk. My office is open to everybody.

Addressing the attendees, Ezisi emphasized the significance of love and unity within NAGAFF and the larger society maintaining that NAGAFF would always prioritize peaceful resolutions of issues within the freight forwarding community.
