The president General of the Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju has felicitated with Muslims in the maritime industry as they celebrate this year’s annual Ed-El-Kabir
In his Sallah message to maritime stakeholders, Adeyanju reiterated the union’s commitment to continue to promote peace and industrial harmony and collaborate and support development in ports, jetties, terminals and oil and gas platforms in the nation.
He also called on members of the union to uphold the rule of law and due diligence in the discharge of their duties
The message stated that “On behalf of my family, leadership and entire membership of Maritime workers union of Nigeria i felicitate with all our muslim brothers and sisters faithfuls in Nigeria and all over the world on this occasion of Eid El Kabir.
“On this occasion we seize the opportunity to call on all Nigerians to be law abiding, uphold the tenets of our unity and pledge to our patriotic callings.
“We also send our warm regards to all stakeholders in the Nigerian ports authority, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, National Inland Waterways Authority, our stevedores, Nigeria Labour Congress, port operators, the federal government and the general Nigerian workers.
“While we mark this occasion maritime workers union of Nigeria reiterates its commitment to continue to promote peace and industrial harmony and collaborate and support development in our ports, jetties, terminals and oil and gas platforms in our nation.
“While we appreciate our members for their overwhelming support and respect for due process we urge them further to uphold the rule of law and due diligence.”
