The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, has called on exporters to take advantage of the organization’s specialized export promotion platforms. These platforms, designed to facilitate exports, are expected to boost Nigeria’s competitiveness in the international market.
According to Dantsoho, the export promotion platforms, including Export Processing Terminals (EPTs), will simplify the export process, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and delays. This move aims to increase Nigeria’s export capacity, particularly for non-oil products.
The NPA is committed to creating an enabling environment for increased investment in port infrastructure and equipment. The specialized export promotion platforms offer several benefits, including:
– _Simplified Export Process_: The platforms provide a one-stop solution for everything from cargo consolidation to certification and shipment, making it easier for exporters to navigate the process.
– _Increased Efficiency_: By eliminating bureaucratic red tape, the platforms reduce delays and costs associated with exports, enabling exporters to get their products to market faster.
– _Improved Competitiveness_: By streamlining exports, Nigeria can increase its competitiveness in the international market, attracting more foreign investment and boosting economic growth.
Dantsoho emphasized that the NPA is working tirelessly to ensure that the country’s ports are efficient, modern, and competitive. He encouraged exporters to take advantage of the specialized export promotion platforms to increase their exports and contribute to the country’s economic development.
The NPA’s efforts to promote trade and economic growth in Nigeria are in line with the government’s economic diversification agenda. By increasing exports, Nigeria can reduce its dependence on oil and create new opportunities for economic growth and development.
Exporters are urged to visit the NPA’s website or contact their local port authority to learn more about the specialized export promotion platforms and how to take advantage of them.
