Oyo NSCDC trains private guard company owners, insists on effective security of lives, property.

The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday, carried out a capacity building programmes for Directors and Managers of Private Guard Companies in the state
The capacity building programme is the brainchild of the Private Guard Company (PGC) Department of the NSCDC.

Declaring the event open, the State Commandant, Dr Michael Adaralewa stated that the significance of the training and updating of knowledge on relevant subject matters In the security industry, cannot be over emphasized.
His words, “One of the ways to build our capacity in providing better security services for protection of lives and properties is to make training and re-training a topmost priority.”
Commandant Adaralewa maintained that closeness of private security agencies especially to NSCDC because of their prompt information gathering that gives the corps the opportunity to nib crime in the bud in the state, is important.
Meanwhile, the Head of PGC Department of the command, Assistant Commandant Oyeniyi Oyeku expressed the need and importance of private security practice in protection of lives and properties.
Speaking at the seminar tagged: Safety and Security Management for Private Security Practitioners, he stated that the objective of organising the seminar is to enhance the knowledge of participants on the rising security threats to safety of lives and properties and coverage on the innovative approaches to security management for solution.
The one day seminar saw ASC 1 Omotola Saheed delivering lectures on innovative Approaches to security management, DCC Olusoji Akingbade spoke on the rising Security threat to safety of lives and Assets, DSC Jude Olaniregun who delivers lectures on Technological Advancement in Security Management: Application of Artificial Intelligence in forensic Investigations
Other.lectures include; Enhancing Recruitment and motivation for Security Guards by ASC1 Olatayo Olaoye while tips on Disaster and emergency preparedness was delivered by Head of the department, Assistant Commandant Oyeniyi Oyeku.
Appreciating the management of the Corps, the Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) Mr Seyi Alaba commended NSCDC and its private Guard Company Department for taking the security of lives and properties a paramount one even as he urged the Corps to continue with the capacity Building Programme initiative for more effective information gathering.
