Stakeholders in the Customs Brokerage subsector of the Maritime industry, on Friday exuded confidence that the appointment of Deputy Comptroller Frank Onyeka as the controller of Tincan Island command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), will encourage importers and manufacturers to make the command their choice of port for importation of goods
The stakeholders also lauded the tenure of the newly promoted Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), ACG Dera Nnadi during at the Tincan Island command it the Service
The Customs Brokers claimed to know the antecedents of the ACG, as well as that of the incoming Controller, Deputy Comptroller Frank Onyeka.
Recall that the duo exchanged baton at the command as ACG Dera Nnadi bowed out of the command as the Controller as he was promoted to a new rank.
A cross section of maritime stakeholders expressed satisfaction over the Area Controller performance while at Tin Can Island Port Command, even as they described the new controller as a performer who has a performing track record on revenue drive.
The stakeholders described Nnadi as a team player who believes in collaboration with while the new helmsman would sustain the tempo or surpass what his predecessor had done
Speaking after the handover ceremony, the National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of ANLCA, Emmanuel Onyeme stated that Nnadi would be missed by both the public and private sector players.
Onyeme maintained that the outgoing Area Controller had written his name in gold by prioritizing trade facilitation and revenue collection.
The NPS reiterated that Nnadi was able to promote trade whilst at the helms of affairs at the command,adding that the results are there to show for his performance.
He said ANLCA has a robust relationship under the Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi administration
Nnadi, he said is a blessing to the command and freight forwarders will continue to appreciate him , for his sterling performance..

On the newly appointed Controller for Tin Can Command , the NPS reaffirmed that the more shippers would patronize the command adding that he is a trade personified officer of customs.
Another stakeholder, Chika Sunday while speaking, said that outgoing Controller contributed to his quota to development of the nation saying he is a testimony with evidence of performance.
Spring further, Chika called on manufacturers to patronise the port explaining that the new helmsman with extend hands of maximum support to them.
