Yuletide: AIG Maritime charges operatives to ensure adequate security on waterways

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Maritime Police Command, Lagos, AIG Olofu Adetutu Rhoda has charged the strategic leaders and field officers of the Command to ensure adequate and watertight security of the nations’ ports, harbours, the inland and navigable waterways as well as the coastal communities during and after the yuletide period.
In a statement by ASP Ehinmode, A. Rowland, Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, the AIG stated this in her yuletide/end of the year operational order to the Commands and Formations under her watch.
She advised officers to demonstrate high level of professionalism and tact in the discharge of their duties while ensuring there is no security breach in their areas of responsibilities.
The AIG appreciated the personnel of the command for their dedication, absolute commitment, unwavering loyalty and resilience in the face of daunting and intimidating security challenges in the outgoing year.
AIG Olofu also commended the coordinated activities of other ancillary Maritime Commands and Formations in the provision of security, enforcement of law and orders, operational guide against crimes and criminalities.
She encouraged the officers to play by the rules, up their services and dedication to the nation and the Force, be proactive and professional, and to shun corruption in all its forms and shapes.
While reiterating the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s commitment to ensuring robust welfare packages for all, the AIG called for team work and spirit which she considers a necessity for safety, effectiveness, success and morale booster.
