The leadership of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has appointed Comrade Matthew Adele as the substantive General Secretary of the Dockworkers branch of the union.
Comrade Adele who was the General Secretary of the Shipping branch took over from Comrade Adebisi Ogedengbe
The new Dockworkers branch scribe boasts of over two decades of experience in administrative duties in the union.
He holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies as well as Diploma in French Studies from Alliance Francaise
His academic qualifications also include; a Bsc in History and International Relations from Lagos State University.
He is also a fellow of the Michael Imoudu National Institute For Labour Studies,.Kwara State.
His wealth of experience, will no doubt, help in upliftment of the branch and the union at large.
Born in Kano State, he speaks Yoruba, Hausa, English and French languages fluently.
He served as Organizing Secretary of RORO District ; Secretary, RORO District and Assistant General Secretary Shipping Branch .
His hobbies include – reading, volleyball and lawn tennis.
Adele who hails from Lagos State, is married with two children.
