The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (ES/CEO) of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Dr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima has bagged the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Media Supporter Award.
The award was presented to him at their 70th anniversary celebration event, held at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Conference Centre in Abuja on June 21, 2025.
On the official Facebook page of the Maritime agency, Shippers’ Council stated that the award recognized Dr. Akutah’s unwavering support for press freedom and the media profession.
The NUJ’s 70th anniversary celebration, themed “Celebrating 70 Years of Journalistic Excellence and Future of the Nigerian Press,” featured notable attendees from the National Assembly, Government officials, Heads of agencies, and Media practitioners.
The NUJ also launched Shu’aibu Leman’s book, “The Bleeding Ink,” a chronicle of the perilous journey of journalists in Nigeria from 1973 to 2025
