The Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Igwe Kingsley on Tuesday, declared that the salaries of staff of the Council would no longer be delayed.

 

He made the declaration when he paid a courtesy visit on the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) at its secretariat in Lagos.

 

He said that salaries of the staff had been inculcated into the budget of the federal government which he said would no longer experience any hitch

 

Recall that the staff were hitherto owed salaries of close to two years which the new CEO made sure was cleared within few his months in office.

 

He also sought the support of the union for the development of the Council saying that many platforms are being built which will lead to a more vibrant CRFFN.

 

His words, “I appreciate your indefatigable PG who is a personal friend. O appreciate you for being the voice of millions of workers and as the Deputy President of NLC

 

“Why I had to come today is because you first gave me a handshake that we didn’t ask for buy you gave us the magnanimity of friendship and the friendship should be sustained toll eternity

“If the right washes the left, the left washes the right hand and by so we can have mutual friendship.

 

“It is a remarkable one for us. CRFFN has come to stay whether they like it or not. We have started work and we are not going back.

 

“Very soon, you will see us fly by the speed of light. We are putting things in place to put alive what was dead before.

 

“What we need is this kind of collaboration to strengthen what we have put in place.

 

“Salaries of workers is guaranteed because our budget has been passed. You will not hear the issue of salary not being paid in CRFFN anymore,” he assured.

 

In his response, the President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju who was full of praise for the Registrar, prayed for God to give him the energy to continue to ilot the affairs of the Council.

 

He promised to avail the Council all the necessary assistance needed to achieve its objective in the port

 

The MWUN PG who doubles as the First Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), advised the CRFFN boss to support the promotion of his staff who stood by him during his appointment.

“I want to congratulate you on your appointment. This is what we are talking about that appointing a young man to head the agency which is a signal to the fact that our children can excel.

 

“You are in your rightful place where things happen, we follow due process, we don’t dable into people’s affairs.

 

“I want to thank all our representatives that it is during their time that we have a vibrant registrar and he won’t disappoint you.

 

“For you to have come within 4 months and the salaries of workers paid. It means you can do it. To me, anything you need in terms of support, we will be there for you.

 

“We thank you and your team that supported you and we know what transpired in Abuja and do not leave them behind, whatever issue you have, you can resolve it amicably.”
