PAAF extends medical help to senior citizens, seeks support for foundation to reach more Nigerians.

The Prince Adewale Adeyanju Foundation (PAAF), has stated it’s resolve to launch the foundation to a global outreach to cater for aged and vulnerable people who have no financial capacity to pay for their medical needs.
It also reaffirmed commitment towards ensuring that welfare of senior and vulnerable citizens in the country are adequately catered for .
PAAF is a Non-Governmanrtal Organisation (NGO) that has taken it upon itself to provide for the less privileged people in the country.
The foundation which was birrged in 2022, has touched the lives of over 2,000 Nigerians in terms of health well-being, provision of academic materialsfor students, empowerblment of widows and aged in the society.
PAAF also assured stakeholders that plans are afoot to take the outreach exercise globally with a view of giving back to the society.

Speaking on Friday in Lagos, September 27 2024, during a two-day healthoutreach, Secretary of the foundation, Comrade Oluwole Adetumi called for support for the foundation in order to expand its reach to more people in the society.
Adetumi who doubles as the Chairman , Tin Can Island District 2, Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) commended the founding father of PAAF, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for the initiative as part of measures to cater for senior citizens and the less privileged.

Adetumi noted that the two day medical outreach held at Faziil Omar Senior High School, Iwaya – Yaba Lagos , was the vision of the founder to giving back to the society.

He recalled that the foundation was commitment to reaching out to those in dire need specially as it concerns senior citizens and less privileged.

Apparently determined to expand the foundation’s vision and mission, Adetumi solicited for stakeholders support in furtherance to provide for the needy.

According to the foundation scribe, “PAAF is planning on how to reach out to some of the Senior citizens on October 1st as part of marking our founding father’s birthday. It’s a continuous exercise and we want to improve on what we are doing . Before we say bye bye to 2024 we will also do more to the needy in our society.

The PAAF Secretary also commended stakeholders for their immense cooperation and support in the last two years of its existence.

Adetumi re-echoed that the foundation has contributed to the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Lagos State in terms of sport development , while adding that medical surgery worth close to N3 million has been expended to some beneficiaries since inception.

The foundation has been touching lives and I can tell you that the impacts recorded so far include – schools, health, and over 2,000 persons have benefited from the project.”,Adetumi reiterated.

Meanwhile, a cross section of dockworkers who were present at the medical outreach lauded efforts put in place by the foundation, even as they expressed satisfaction on the free medication.

Speaking, Chairman , Apapa District 1 , Dockworkers Branch, MWUN, Comrade Bolaji Agboola recalled that from inception of PAAF , students from both primary and secondary schools have benefited from the initiative adding that ” Senior citizens from the six geopolitics zones of Nigeria have been empowered.

Agboola maintained that the September 2024 medical outreach focused on Blood Pressure (BP), Prostrate, Blood Sugar , Eyes tests and treatment for citizens irrespective of tribe or religion.

He said a total of over 200 persons were to benefit daily from the two days medical outreach saying the initial plan of reaching out to 150 persons per day was changed because of the surging crowd on ground
He added that the foundation would also supply some basic amenities for Fazil-Omar Senior High School, Iwaya – Yaba Lagos school where the exercise was held .

Chairman, Apapa District 2 Dockworkers Branch, MWUN , Comrade Moses Osagie stated that PAAF had continued to take care of the needy since it’s inception and medical outreach is one of the key elements of the project.
Osagie, ,while appreciating the President General of MWUN Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for the initiative, stated the motive was to encourage senior citizens of the country.
He also called on dockworkers to embark on regular medical check-up as a veritable tool for improved health well-being.

On his part, Chairman, Apapa District 3, Dockworkers Branch MWUN, Comrade Tunde Balogun, expressed satisfaction on the PAAF outreach for members of the union.
He quipped that it was a good initiative that would help a lot of people without financial capacity for medical affordability.
