IGBO BURU OTU Marks End Of Year Party in Grandeur

...as lucky winners emerge in Raffle Draw.

It was thrills, funfair and tears of joy as members and invitees of lgbo Buru Otu sociocultural association went home with gift of cash in cheques, food items, electronic gadgets and various consolation prices.

The event which took place at the palace of Eze Ambassador Chika Nwokedi,the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/ljedodo area of Lagos saw many individuals smiling to the bank to mark the end of the year
During the occassion, some members of the association, who had performed creditably well in various categories, were given special recognition for their commitment to the progress of Ndigbo Buru Otu over the years.

 


The Ndi Igbo buru Otu members awarded with gifts includes: Chief Godswill Ogbuka, Chief Mrs Ada Odiri, Peter Fish, Barr. Nnajiego Peter, Oge Barnabas Amaechi,Rev Dr Moses Okwuosa, Barr. Mary Joy Okasi, Akajiofor Chief Dr Godswill Anaeme, Chief Dr Ngozi Chukwu Iwuoha, Chief Comrade Ifeanyi Iguegbe, Chionso Osuji, Mrs Rita Akubueze, Njideka Nwafor (Adamazi), Mrs Madueke Joy, Chibuzor, Njoku Edmond Uzuoma,and Obiekwe Ndukwe.
Others include Ugoeze (Lolo) Chika Nwokedi, Chief Godwin Anaeme, Chief Chika Okeoma, Barr. Mrs. George and many others. They received various items which include cash of 20,000,bags of rice, wrist watches, bedsheets and branded T-shirts with the inscription of Eze Chika Nwokedi.
Addressing newsmen Eze Dr Ambassador C.C. Nwokedi noted that the essence of the event was to reward outstanding members of the association, for their contribution and service to the association in the last 8 years.

 


Eze Nwokedi opined that it was not easy to have kept the association alive and healthy, stating that he was able to achieve that by the grace of God and support from the members who reposed confidence in him.

He revealed there will be a bigger version of the raffle draw event in the first quarter of 2024 where more valuable prices will be given in car rewards, tricycle popularly called “keke napep”, mini buses, motorcycles, watches and so on.

“It is with a great honor to God almighty for sparing our lives this 8 years of this association , what you all have witnessed today is just a tip of the iceberg,by next year more packages will be coming by next year. I have the desire and passion for giving and l will continue to give and put smiles on the faces of people especially the less privileged in the society including the widows which by the grace of God would empower 170 widows on 14th December, 2023, at my palace” he stated.

The India Ambassador,Eze Nwokedi advises all to be security conscious, appealing to all the igbos in ljegun and Lagos as a whole to maintain peace, respect the laws of the land, stay off crime and respect the owners of Lagos especially those in charge of authourity. He commended the effort of the Divisional Police Officer in Ijegun/lsheri division who has been able to maintain peace and orderliness, especially in raising concerns about land issues which he confirmed is under control.

The highpoint of the the event was the raffle draw, which was transparent and won by both members and non members of the association and lucky winners emerged.

The winners of these lottery are; Mrs Andaline Echenem the 1st winner who went home with a deep freezer worth N210,000, Miss Chisom the 2nd winner of the raffle draw won a generator set, Firezone Ministries got the 3rd price of plasma TV, The 4th winner happens to be Obiekwe Ndukwe (Good God)he won a gas cooker, the 5th winner Ikechukwu went home with an ox fan, Prince Valentine Ezeruo the 6th winner went home with a blender. Other winners include Ifeanyi Njoku, Oba oloye owusola, Ebudike chibuzo,Micheal ohagu, Osabuike Amarachi,Moses Okwuosa all went with consolation prices.

The winner of a deep freezer, Mrs. Anderlin Echenim, expressed both shock and joy for winning the item. She was shocked after she was called on phone and informed that she had won the item without being a member of the group.

Chisom the 2nd winner of the raffle draw says she is lucky to have won a generator set, reveals she was shocked at the call that she won a price, praised mom who encouraged her to apply for the raffle draw in the first place, thanks the organisers.

The 3rd winner who won a plasma TV with the name Fire Zone Ministries appreciated Eze Nwokedi to conduct a raffle draw, express satisfaction in the random picks that had earned him a precious price. Reveals that upon buying the tickets to be raffled he placed them on the alter for prayers, affirms it’s the Lord’s doing. Thanks organisers and Eze Chika for creating such opportunities.

Other winners expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the exercise and also win an item.Okuego Anthony Ebuka, Osinachi 1 of Obodoukwu a member of the association says the essence of the yearly celebration is not to merry alone but to thankGod for life. He noted that 2023 is unique for the added significant changes established by the association.

“The raffle draw which had millions of naira is dedicated to it’s course as a new development that will be sustained for a longtime, affirms absolute support made available to members in good and bad times, while applauding the effort of the founder for his generosity.”he submitted.
