As the Jostling for the 2024 Gubernatorial election in Ondo state draws near, political gladiators and their respective followers for positioning sundry strategic ambitions is building up across the state as the people of the state are demanding for Dr Paul Akintelure to run for Governor of Ondo state come 2024.
Speaking at an event organized by youths of Ondo Senatorial district, the APC Chieftain stated that if elected, he shall Introduce new innovative entrepreneurship policy that will create an opportunity to open the economy of the state through digital technology as he intends to unveil digital literacy through revolution in research and development for massive job creation and economic prospect.
The Medical Practitioner, also stated that building a state requires collaborative efforts from both government and individuals bringing together laudable and novel ideas so as to build a state of their dreams.
“Ondo state is greatly endowed with energetic, intelligent and vibrant youthful population that are eager and ever ready to showcase their talents in different field for the development of our beloved state. It is quite unfortunate that there has not be an enabling environment for them to strive as a result of poor management experience and capacity, but with your support and the entire people of Ondo state, l shall promote and support the establishment of humanitarian and poverty alleviation trust fund as part of my major administration effort to tackle economic hardship in vulnerable citizenry,” he submitted.
The one time Senatorial Candidate and Deputy Governorship Candidate 2011 & 2012 respectively opined that security and protection of lives and property would be one of his pivotal agenda as he would invest heavily on the security agencies in the state and learning in cyber security technology which is the key to economic drive in a conducive environment.
Earlier, an elder statesman in the state, Hon Chief Mukaila. A. Musa thanked Dr Paul Akintelure for answering the clarion call of the people, assuring him of their unalloyed support in ensuring that he picks the party ticket and also win the Governorship election.
He went further to say that following his antecedents, philanthropic nature both in the private sector and also as a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in years past, the people of Ondo state have spoken in one voice to give him the seat of power so as for him to use his wealth of experience as a Medical Practitioner and a politician of great repute to transform Ondo state once again.
“You have been tested, proven and you are also to be trusted, right from Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress of Nigeria and now All Progressive Congress. We have decided to throw our full weight on this project so as to ensure that come 2024 you will become the Governor of Ondo state. I want to use this medium to appeal to other aspirants in our party to step down and support Dr Paul Akintelure who has what it takes to be the next Governor of Ondo state,” he stated.
