The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant seizures at the TinCan Port in Lagos and the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano. These seizures are a testament to the agency’s relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling in Nigeria.

At the TinCan Port, NDLEA operatives discovered 128 parcels of Canadian Loud, a variant of cannabis, hidden inside mattresses. This cleverly concealed shipment was intended to be smuggled into the country, but the vigilant NDLEA agents were able to intercept it.

In addition to this seizure, the NDLEA also intercepted 5.40kg of cocaine destined for Owerri, the capital of Imo State. This significant seizure highlights the agency’s ability to track and intercept illicit substances, even when they are cleverly concealed.

In a separate incident, a Turkey-bound businessman was arrested at the MAKIA in Kano. The suspect, who was attempting to travel to Turkey, was found to have ingested 120 wraps of cocaine. In a remarkable display of expertise, NDLEA agents were able to successfully retrieve the ingested cocaine, which the suspect had attempted to conceal.

These seizures and arrests demonstrate the NDLEA’s commitment to ridding Nigeria of illicit substances and combating drug trafficking. The agency’s efforts are a crucial step towards creating a safer and healthier society for all Nigerians.
