Merchant Navy honours Engr. Jalori for humanitarian support in global maritime

The leadership of the Nigerian Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) on Monday, bestowed the prestigious Humanitarian of the Year,, 2024 award on Engr Kamlesh Jalori

The award is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of maritime industry, both in Nigeria and globally

 

Engr. Jalori an Indian National was bestowed with the award for his outstanding contributions to humanitarian development, making positive impacts on the lives of seafarers in Nigeria and abroad.

 

Presenting the award, the Secretary General of NMNOWTSSA, Comrade John Aleakhue Okpono said that the recipient was deserving of the award for his resilience and dedication towards fostering growth in the maritime environment.

According to the association’s scribe , Eng. Jalori’s selfless dedication to the maritime and tireless support to the global community has been a beacon of inspiration to many.

 

“His unwavering commitment and support in ensuring safety for the people at the sea is commendable.”

 

Also speaking, Engr. Sese Atina, CEO, Massc Global Marine Limited described the awardee as a nice man and an expert on his job

He added that Engr Jalori Wasa humble, selfless man who carried everybody along in the course of his duty.

According to Engr Atina, the Indian deserved the award for lending hands to people and educating younger generations in the line of his duty..

 

Expressing his elation for the honour to the Ship Engineer, Sese said he was diligent, and indiscriminate against anyone even as he lauded him for the hand of fellowship towards Nigeria seaman as well as other nationalities.

Responding, the award recipient, Engr. Jalori who  works with Maritec Tankers Management PVT LTD, part of RUBIS group., expressed delight for the honour even as he appreciated the union for the opportunity to make contributions to the development of the sector.

“I am humbled to receive this award, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others,” he said.

 

Present at the award ceremony are; Mr. Ayo Ohiwere, the African Maritime Desk Consultant, Engr. Sese Atina, a ship merchant

 

 

He also acknowledged the support of others, emphasizing that the award is not just a recognition of individual efforts but also a tribute to all those who have provided support.

 

He also.acknowledged the support of Engr Sese Atina in helping to tackle some challenges he faced at the port especially on repair works.

 Meanwhile, Ejiro and Kevwe, Jazz wonder kids performed, at the occasion as they laced the occasion with musical entertainment.
