Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has congratulated president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the successful establishment of Unity Shipping Worldwide line.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the president through the Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, the union applauded the president for a Nigerian shipping line founded on public-private partnership between Swedish global shipping agency, Stena Bulk, and Nigerian marine and aviation logistics firm, Caverton.
Part of the letter read, “We bring warm compliments to the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy from the leadership of our union — Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, and congratulate you Sir in respect of the recent establishment of Unity Shipping Worldwide – a Nigerian shipping line founded on public-private partnership between Swedish global shipping agency – Stena Bulk, and Nigerian marine and aviation logistics firm – Caverton.
“Sir, we wish to state that the “Renewed Hope” agenda of this administration under the auspices of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is perfectly reflected through the qualitative and visionary leadership of the likes of you.
“We note with a sense of fulfilment and pride that your leadership of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, the provision of a $700,000,000 (Seven Hundred Million Dollars) cabotage fund to support indigenous ship owners with funds to acquire new vessels, and the establishment of Unity Shipping Worldwide (USW) through ! public-private partnership will go a long way to infuse our burgeoning maritime and oil & gas sectors with unprecedented growth potential.
“This is commendable achievement which will benefit the good people of Nigeria as our nation’s economy stands to gain the most through the instrumentality of a standard shipping line with global reach.
