LG elections: Senator Eshinlokun doles out financial supports to APC candidates in Senatorial District

Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun of Lagos Central Senatorial District on Monday, doled out millions of naira to grassroots contestants in the forthcoming Local Government Elections spared for 23rd July, 2025.
The senator who gave out the funds to local government chairmanship candidates, their deputies, Councillorship candidates and local government party chairmen, said the token would support them in their political aspirations.
Speaking at the event, Senator Eshinlokun said that the gesture was to tell the APC contestants that they were not alone in their candidacy.
The senator at the Cheque Presentation Ceremony for all the Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates of APC in the Lagos Central Senatorial District, stated that it was a demonstration of the party’s dedication to strengthening democracy at the grassroots level
“It is with great pride and unwavering commitment that I stand before you today ,gathered in the spirit of unity, progress, and the shared vision we hold for our great party and the communities we serve.
“Today’s event is more than just a presentation of financial support—it is a demonstration of our dedication to strengthening democracy at the grassroots level.
“The upcoming Local Government elections present an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to good governance, effective leadership ,and the betterment of lives in our Senatorial District.
“As a party, we understand the challenges that come with electioneering campaigns—the resources required, the logistics involved, and the need for unwavering support.
“It is for this reason that I am providing financial assistance to our esteemed Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates. This support is not just about funding; it is about ensuring that our candidates can focus on what truly matters—engaging with the people, sharing their vision, and securing victory for our great party.
“Our party thrives on unity, hard work and dedication to service, and today’s initiative embodies those values. I encourage all our candidates to use these resources wisely, engage meaningfully with their communities, and uphold the principles of integrity and excellence that define our political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he stressed
He gave out N2m to each of the 13 local government party chairman, N2.5m to each of the 13 chairmanship candidates while each of the 93 Councillorship candidates received N500,000.00.
