The Lagos State Health District IV led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Abimbola Bowale,has hosted the Chairmen of Lagos Island Local Government and Local Council Development Area when the duo paid courtesy visit on the District.
While.congratating them on their victories at the polls in the last Local Government elections, the Permanent Secretary expressed gratitude to the chairmen for their supports and investing in the primary healthcare centre on the island and their impact on their people on health matters, .

Responding, the Chairman, Lagos Island East Local Government Hon. Muibi Alade Folawiyo, said that he was ready to collaborate with the District to make all the primary healthcare centres at the island East to be at par with the Lagos State General Hospitals for quality healthcare delivery to the people
He noted that the Local Government is going to fix the primary healthcare centre, so they can operate and render medical services to their community for 24 hours, he promised the centres will never remain the same.
Speaking further, he said the council just registered 350 people for free Ilera Eko programme in their communities and equally paying medical bills for their people that can not afford to pay after receiving treatment from the general Hospitals.
He confirmed the readiness of conference 57 to create taskforce on immunisation and contribute towards immunisation programme for all children in Lagos State. Hon. Muibi Alade Folawiyo was honoured as the best chairman on road and infrastructure in Nigeria.
The Chairman Lagos Island local government , Hon. Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, on his own shared his commitment on investing in the primary healthcare centres in Lagos Island local government, because health is key in his administration.
Hon. Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, requested for more manpower from the state government, so the primary healthcare centre can delivered healthcare services effectively. He promised to support the Lagos State health district IV by investing in primary healthcare centres and currently, the Lagos Island local government are the only Council paying minimum wage to their Adoc staffs in Lagos State.
