Lagos Health District IV concludes evaluation, monitoring of healthcare centres, bridging gaps

The Lagos State Health District IV has concluded a systematic process of collecting and analysing data to assess the effectiveness of the Primary Healthcare Centre across the district, which is a fundamental of all the facility.
The health workforce team of the district are engaging directly with the health workers in the primary healthcare centre to educate them on the safety and trust across the local government and local council development areas healthcare facility.

According to the statement, the initiative was part of the district commitment to bridging the communication gap between the district and the primary healthcare centres, so the ultimate beneficiaries can get quality healthcare services.
The Permanent Secretary Lagos State Health District IV Dr Abimbola Bowale, represented by Dr. Sotunde Oludolapo, Director Medical Services and disease control and head of the health workforce team, explained the role and responsibilities of the district, that it is the mandate of the district to protect health and safety of the people.
She emphasised that the District’s renewed focus on routine monitoring and evaluation was driven by the recognition that regulation alone is not enough, that all the primary healthcare centre under district IV must also be informed on how to give the patients right healthcare services.
She further emphasised on the five S’ methodology for quality healthcare services, noting that for medical work efficiency, the health workers must, Sort, Set , Shine , Standardize and Sustain, that unnecessary items must not surface, only the necessary medical items should be logically arranged.
Dr. Sotunde Oludolapo reaffirmed that the District would continue to organise similar routine monitoring and evaluation to engages all the primary healthcare centres across all the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas covered by District IV.
