ANLCA NECOM visits MWUN, seeks harmony among stakeholders, new era in maritime.

The newly elected executives of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) on Wednesday, paid a courtesy visit on the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) in continuation of its engagement with stakeholders for robust port operations and harmony among operators.
The duo agreed to work together to ensure smooth operations and to rise against policies that may hinder seamless port operations.
The President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju pledged a collaboration with the new executives in resolution of issues inimical to the jobs of their members.
Speaking, Comrade Adeyanju said, “We have been on this matter for a long time because our jobs are related, if we don’t load they don’t clear.
“Also about some inimical policies that the government is giving. If all of us are on the same page and we found out that these policies are not good, I think the union can support ANLCA to tackle government on such policies. That is what we mean by the Memorandum of Understanding. To have an understanding that is of good interest to the stakeholders.
“We have always been on the same page we have been working together, not only ANLCA but other port operators
“So if any arm is having a problem, what is stopping the other from supporting them and making sure they resolve it? So, it is a new dawn.
Earlier, the National Vice President of ANLCA, Prince Segun Oduntan who led the delegation, while speaking, told MWUN PG that the visit was to seek collaboration and to cement past relationship for seamless engagement at the port.
Oduntan who praised the leadership role of the MWUN boss, added that the visit was to broker a formidable relationship that would help to move the industry forward.
His words, “The campaign slogan of our team is Restoration, it is to see a new era in the maritime industry because we have found out that where there is no harmony there will always be an issue that is why we have to come together with all stakeholders in the industry and move the industry forward.
“This is part of the first steps we have started taking on behalf of my president.
“I make it as a point of duty to call my people to come and see you because of what we share in the industry
“I looked.at you from distance from years back and your leadership role, I want to follow the steps.”
Asked if he thinks peace has finally returned to the foremost freight forwarding association, Oduntan enthused that peace has returned 100 percent.
He added that all the cracks that hitherto led to fracas in the association had been mended hence intruders have no place in the group any more.
“I can tell you 100 percent that peace has finally returned to ANLCA, detractors will not find any space, all the cracked walls have been mended.
