The new first Deputy President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the employers of labour across the nation to sit tight saying the era of employers playing in intelligence if workers will no longer be tolerated
He made the remark after his inauguration at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Wednesday
Adeyanju, who doubles as the President General of the Maritime Workers’Union of Nigeria (MWUN) said Nigeria workers should expect the best from the new executives
According to him, there will be sigh of relief for workers with the advent of the new National Administrative Council in place.
He affirmed that the union needed to do more because of the state of the nation.
He appreciated Nigerian workers especially his supporters for their unwavering support for him even as he dedicated his victory to members of his union.
“Nigerian workers need to expect the best of the bests because Nigeria is a time bomb as no average Nigerian can boast of a thousand naira in his pocket because of lack of access to cash
“Unlike in the past, we are not going to sit and watch, we are going to face the challenge.
“It means a lot to me and whatever I have achieved, I dedicate it to nigerian workers. It is no longer the issue of President General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria.
“I dedicate all my progress and achievements to all my members who have been supporting me.
“It is a clarion call to come and work and serve and I am ready to serve because I still have the ability and agility to perform and for the Maritime to move forward.
“All the employers of labour that have no regards for workers need to sit tight this time around because the era of employers playing on the intelligence of workers will no longer be because we are ready this time around because Nigeria is shaking.”
