The Chairman of Guard Time Information, Human Rights Activists Nationwide, Mr. Bibi Oduku, has officially appointed Barrister Alice Wowuota Iwara as the Head of Women and Children Affairs, Abuja FCT.

 

In a statement made available to Monarchs News, announcing the appointment, Mr. Oduku highlighted Barrister Iwara’s passion for women’s empowerment and her unwavering commitment to the welfare of children, noting that she is well-positioned to champion human rights issues concerning women and children across Abuja and its environs.

 

Responding to the appointment, Barrister Alice Wowuota Iwara expressed her profound appreciation, stating: “I am deeply honoured and humbled by this appointment. I am passionate about protecting the rights and advancing the well-being of women and children, and I intend to use this office as a platform to drive meaningful transformation.

 

“My focus will be on promoting policies, initiatives, and interventions that safeguard the interests of women and children while ensuring their voices are heard and their rights fully protected.”

 

She further assured that she would carry out her responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and dedication to positively impact the lives of women and children in Abuja and beyond.

 

She said, “As part of my activities in this role, I intend to launch strong advocacy and awareness campaigns against rape, domestic violence, and child abuse. I will work to establish support programs for survivors, create empowerment initiatives for women to achieve economic independence, and collaborate with relevant agencies, law enforcement, and NGOs to ensure justice and protection for victims.

 

“Furthermore, I will focus on community engagement, policy advocacy, and building safe spaces that uphold the dignity and rights of women and children across the FCT,” she maintained.
