Dangote Cement Plc has achieved a “B” score in climate change and water security disclosures, according to the recently released 2024 CDP results. This upgraded rating demonstrates the company’s commitment to transparency, governance, and measurable actions towards sustainability.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive of Dangote Cement, Mr. Arvind Pathak, emphasized the company’s leadership in environmental disclosures across Africa. He noted that Dangote Cement is one of the few businesses in six African regions to disclose through CDP.
The company’s score on water security was upgraded from “C” to “B”, while its climate change score remained strong at “B”. This achievement is seen as a testament to Dangote Cement’s ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, accelerate climate action, and promote sustainability across its business and value chain.
The Head of Sustainability at Dangote Cement, Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who aligned with the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. She stated that this year’s results are evidence that Dangote Cement’s contribution to creating a world where people, planet, and profit are truly balanced is paying off.
